This book was published by Synergebooks. The action takes place is a swamp. The main characters are Adora, Adora’s mother, Grandpa, and the grand-children. The problem is that Adora is in pain. I think anyone who loves animals should read this book because they would think “AWWW! This is so sad!” I couldn’t put the book down!. Zione Pinckney, 5th grader at Eagle Nest Elementary. My name is Taylor Gilbert and I am reviewing the book by Rhonda S. Edwards called, Adora the Albino Alligator. The setting takes place in a swamp and at a local zoo. The characters are believable because Adora could be real along with her brother and sister alligators. The problem in this book is that Adora must be taken to a local zoo. The problem is solved because when Adora is old enough, I think she will leave the zoo and go back to the wild. I liked this book because I learned something that I didn’t know. On a scale from 1-10, I would give this book a 10!. Taylor Gilbert, 5th grader at Eagle Nest Elementary. As Mother Alligator helps her hatchlings to the safety of the swamp, she finds that she has a very special baby. Adora is an American Alligator, yet she differs in that she is an albino. With no protection from the direct sunlight, Adora is forced to stay underneath the shady limbs of the swamp as her siblings enjoy lazing in the sun. Mother Alligator has to watch over her more closely than the others because Adora’s unusual coloring makes her vulnerable to predators. Just when life seems unbearable for the little alligator, a grandfather out fishing with his two young granddaughters hears and follows the sound of Adora’s cries of pain as the sun burns her tender body. Careful to not disturb the alligator family, the trio seeks help from park rangers. Adora is captured, taken to a local zoo, and a new life begins for her as she is introduced to her new home where extra care is taken to protect this rare and beautiful creature. Media Type: eBook.
